Don't Worry, I Know What I'm Doing: Talent Management Practices between South Korean and Foreign-Owned Firms

It is frequently argued that Talent Management (TM) has been derived from Western, and there are gaps between spread westernized TM format contexts of non-western countries when adopted practiced in a business daily basis. The cultural institutional to adopt analyzed this paper through comparing the differences practices foreign owned subsidiaries local firms South Korea using an theory lens. A mixed method approach including 55 semi-structured interviews Korean non-South employees 155 survey responses employed. This results revealed clear distinctions indigenous practice inclusive implicit TM, whereas global standard exclusive program developing very specific approaches within their traditional cultures such as collectivism Confucianism manage talent, also evaluate tailored effective like other MNCs’ approach.
